Every spring, we head west.

Vancouver has long been one of our favourite places to gather inspiration, walking supplier showrooms, exploring new collections before they arrive in-store, spotting emerging design directions, and seeing firsthand how furniture is evolving.

For us, these trips are about discovering pieces, materials, and spaces that feel timeless, warm, and deeply connected to how people want to live today.

This year, a few themes stood out again and again.

Soft Curves & Sculptural Shapes

One thing we noticed across nearly every showroom was a continued move toward softer silhouettes.

Curved armchairs, rounded sofas, sculptural coffee tables, and organic forms brought a sense of ease and comfort to each space. Pieces felt inviting rather than overly structured, designed to create homes that feel relaxed, lived in, and welcoming.

From oversized lounge seating set ups at Stylus Sofas  to sculptural accent chairs and curved casegoods throughout the city, there was a clear shift toward pieces that feel softer and more relaxed.

It’s a direction that works beautifully in mountain homes, balancing the harder architectural lines often found in alpine spaces.

Warm Woods Are Here to Stay

Another detail we saw consistently across collections was the return of richer wood tones.

Walnut finishes, darker oaks, warm brown stains, and natural wood grains brought warmth and sophistication to otherwise minimal interiors. These tones pair beautifully with creamy upholstery, earthy textiles, and softer lighting.

At LH Home , we were especially drawn to pieces that balanced clean contemporary lines with warmer, organic materials. Their collections continue to embody that refined mountain aesthetic we naturally gravitate toward at Stonewaters Spaces.

One piece we continue to love season after season is the Restore Dining Table , a customer favourite that perfectly captures this blend of sculptural form and natural texture.

Rich Textures & Natural Materials

Texture was everywhere.

Bouclé fabrics, velvets, natural woods, woven details, marble, and live-edge materials layered together to create spaces with depth and character.

One material we continue to love year after year is live-edge wood. During our visit to Style In Form, we were reminded why these pieces have become such a staple in our showroom. Their sculptural side tables and organic wood forms bring an element of nature indoors in a way that feels effortless and timeless.

No two pieces are exactly alike, which makes them feel personal and grounded, especially in mountain homes surrounded by natural landscapes.

Custom
Comfort

Visiting the Stylus Sofas factory is always one of the highlights of our trip.

There’s something incredibly inspiring about seeing furniture crafted by hand, from the frames to the upholstery details, and understanding the level of craftsmanship behind each piece.

More than ever, we noticed an emphasis on comfort and customization. Deep seating, feather filled cushions, modular layouts, and tailored upholstery options continue to shape the way people want to live at home.

Bringing Inspiration Back to the Rockies

We always leave Vancouver feeling inspired, not just by the furniture itself, but by the atmosphere these spaces create.
Warmth. Texture. Comfort. Connection to nature.
Those are the ideas we continue bringing back to the Rockies and into the homes we help furnish every day.
And honestly, seeing these collections in person only reinforces what we’ve always believed: thoughtful spaces are never about following trends. They’re about creating homes that feel timeless, personal, and deeply lived in.
