Founder and entrepreneur, Phil Wong believes that where you stay shapes how you connect, celebrate, and remember. We recently worked with Phil on a full design package for his latest luxury rental offering via his company WeekAway . Helping him encapsulate everything he loves about modern mountain living: warmth, intention, and a deep sense of place. Creating that ‘Home At Last’ feeling even for visitors to the space.
The spaces we create tell a story. Stories of the people who envisioned them, the moments lived within them and the care that’s woven into every detail. Stories of Spaces is our chance to explore the intimate connection between people and their living environments, showcasing how thoughtfully designed spaces reflect and enhance the lives within them.
Meet Phil
Hi, I’m Phil, founder of WeekAway, a luxury vacation rental management company based here in Canmore. We focus on curating five-star accommodation experiences designed to bring people together and create unforgettable memories in the heart of the Rockies.
Creating a Home That Feels Like a Retreat
When Phil began working on this property, the intention was clear:
to design a space that feels both inspiring and deeply comfortable.
“I wanted to build an environment where guests could feel both inspired and at home, something distinctive yet functional. The goal was to craft a space that blends effortlessly with the mountain landscape, almost as if it were an extension of it.”
This home was imagined as a place for connection, gathering, and slow mornings, a retreat that lives in harmony with the mountains around it.
Hosting in the Bow Valley
Hosting here comes with a sense of meaning.
“Every group that stays with us comes to mark a special moment: a celebration, a getaway, time together. Knowing this space plays a part in those memories is incredibly rewarding. It’s an honour to host them here in the Rockies.”
A Space Built Around Connection
The living room became the heart of the home.
“The couch is a highlight: high-quality, beautifully designed, and it anchors the whole space. I also love the wood feature wall we added, which gives the room a warm, grounded character. It ties everything together.”
Warm natural textures, layered textiles, and thoughtful lighting give the space its inviting, nostalgic feel, something guests notice immediately.
Partnering With
Stonewaters Spaces
Phil explored countless options before finding a vision that aligned.
“Stonewaters Spaces stood out immediately. Their collection captures that elevated mountain aesthetic, a balance of rustic warmth and refined design. Everything feels intentional and curated. It was a natural fit.”
Together with Judith, the furnishing process became collaborative, creative, and seamless.
“Judith was incredible, professional, creative, and easy to collaborate with. Mood boards, layout planning, furniture selection, the entire process was genuinely fun.”
